Digital Recorders enable recorded video to be viewed and stored both locally and remotely via network or internet. Depending on your particular needs, recorders can be configured to provide months of video storage and are designed to only record actual events rather than recording long periods of inactivity. This allows security personnel to review long periods of activity in a fraction of the time compared to older VCR type recorders. Residential installations include both covert and conventional cameras for home security and baby surveillance (also known as “nanny cams”). By taking advantage of the fact that many homes now have broadband connections, software can be installed which enables families to monitor their home cameras via internet and record the video on their own home computers.
